KC Grill ‘N Kabob is one of my food homes–not just because it’s geographically close to home, but because the food is home-made, hand-made, with love and passion, fresh every day. It’s a tiny little place, tucked into the corner of a stereotypical suburban strip mall. But the flavorful kabobs, grilled tomatoes and onions, dill rice, hummus and cilantro chutney are anything but suburban. On our first trip to KC Grill ‘N Kabob, my husband’s reaction was This is some of the best food I’ve ever eaten! and we’ve continued to be regulars at what we and our friends now call Hamid’s Place.
When you dine at KC Grill ‘N Kabob, not only will you have a delicious meal, but you’ll be giving your support to a small, independently owned restaurant and one of the nicest restaurateurs around. Hamid Taliafreshi exudes warmth and pride as he stops by your table, thanks you for your business and asks if everything is satisfactory.
My love for this little restaurant resulted in a spot on Check, Please Kansas City. Check out the show and then check out the restaurant. Go for the buffet. Save room for Persian ice cream. The resulting food coma is worth it. Tell Hamid I sent you!
